We have made it to the end of another year and, despite the heat wave which has slowed us all down a little, we have worked incredibly hard, and I am proud of all the children. One of the things that has impressed me this year is the resilience of our children and the way they model our school values every single day. Whenever we have had visitors this year, the one thing they always comment on is the politeness of our children and the calm atmosphere that is always present wherever you are in school. Next year our aim is to improve communication further with all parents and carers. We have increased our social media presence this year , but to allow all classes to be able to communicate more frequently with parents,  we will be reintroducing class dojo from September 2026. You will receive more information on this from your children's class teacher at the start of the next academic year. 

I want to say goodbye and good luck to the staff members who are leaving us but most importantly, wish lots of future success to our Year 6 children who are moving to secondary school. It is the start of a brand-new chapter, and we know every one of you will be amazing.

On behalf of all the staff, we wish everyone a very pleasant and relaxing summer break, and we look forward to seeing the children return in September.

EYFS Community Project

One of our biggest and proudest highlights this year has been the success of the EYFS community learning project throughout the summer term. This has been a great opportunity for the children to interact more with our community and experience the highlights that Wollaston has to offer. As part of this project, we have visited a number of different locations, such as the Wollaston Veggie patch, the Wollaston Museum to find out more about the village we live in and a particular favourite was when the children visited the village Alpacas one of which was named Boris. We have been fortunate enough to have parents volunteer and support with our trips out and the project culminated in a joint Teddy Bears picnic where the current reception get to have fun with our new children starting in September. We thank Miss Pullin and her team for all the hard work which went into organising such a successful community project

Govilon Residential 

Year 6 have recently returned from an action-packed week in Govilon in Wales. This is always a highlight, as the children get to step outside their comfort zones and experience activities they never normally would. Children this year have enjoyed caving, abseiling and hiking as well as the experience of spending four nights away from home. The children represented our school beautifully and all the teachers who went were extremely proud. 

Rocksteady

Rocksteady concerts are always a highlight for us as it really demonstrates the musical talent of so many of our children. This is a typical example again of our school values being modelled, as children need to work together and support each other when performing, something which is not always easy. We would also  like to thank the parents for their support as  it always has one of the biggest audiences when the concerts happen. 

Teddy Bears Picnic

We recently had a Teddy Bears Picnic as part of our transition process for our new children starting in September. This was a lovely morning where our current EYFS children and their parents came together with our new children to share experiences of what the first year in EYFS is all about, as well as completing some games and activities. Thank you to everyone who supported this. It was a great success and the weather certainly helped. 

PTA Party

What a fantastic PTA party we had this week. It was lovely seeing the fun had by all and the weather certainly helped. Thank you to the PTA for organising this event.
